Last November, at a Belgian swap, meet I encountered a headbadge collector:

I just had a look at the pictures I took of his collection:

And sure enough, I found the Sabre badge:

Non-Fixie, you are correct, my Sabre bike and your pictured bike are very similar. Besides visual similarities, we have the same crankset , which I think is a Fermesse. The fork crowns are also the same. I believe your bike has a seat post clamp, where mine does not. My front hub is an EDCO, MANAL 700c alloy rims and an ASTROS Super stem. I know my bike has been repainted, I think original color was green. It also originally had a rear caliper brake. I think that is awesome that you found the Sabre head badge out of that collection.

I like Belgian bikes and Belgian swap meets. 🙂Ran into Headbadge Man again last week at another event, which helped me remember I had those pictures.

I think you'll find the cranks to be HERMESSE, more info on them here:

HERMESSE on Velobase

EKLA frame parts were widely used in the fifties. In Belgium and Holland, but also in the UK. The EDCO-MANAL combination for the front wheel is also something I have come across more often.

My impression is that the number of actual bicycle manufacturers in Belgium is limited, compared the the huge number of different bicycle brands.

I could not make out what the crankset name started with, I guessed an "F". The information from the Velobase site makes it a Hermesse Luxe crank set.
