Figuring this doc will get totally dismantled by all us 'bike geeks'... I got to watch the rough cut last
night...well first 20 mins...will watch the rest later ... and thought it was a fairly good effort..
weird seeing myself on it...gunna try and get all the 'me' stuff deleted!!😆😂
Bottom line? I think a BIG time exposure to the Schwinn brand... the history....the innovations...
and moooost importantly... the collector realm.
Can do nothing but Good for bike collecting in general.
BTW....Leon killsssss!! SO awesome... he's like the "Godfather" in this ...
in the opening bits that I saw.. So rad and BIG Props to the most OG og!

After hearing that, my hope is restored. 😂

Was about to buy a copy of No Hands, but after reading the comments here I'm having second thoughts; is there a good, honest biography of the company in circulation?

Get a copy - it's worth reading. I found it a mildly interesting book and a quick read.

Glad to hear that. I will definitely go see it if playing near here.

And it is even more hilarious that I have recently been restricted from posting in a thread about California Cruisers just because my opinion(s) and/or theories differ from the herd mentality on the topic!
The reason you were blocked from replying to that thread was because you altered a scanned document and posted it as real. Not cool.

I NEVER stated the document was real, I simply posted a picture of a document.

So that being said. What is the difference if people post pictures of fake bikes implying they are real versions of California Cruisers?

All solid shows.

For sure!
I think I would’ve tried to pitch the Schwinn movie to the producers at the History channel, and piggyback it in with the, “That Built America” series.
“The Bike That Built America,” would’ve been a much more appropriate title than the
“No Hands” title which instantly brings to mind the book of the same name.

Back when Al Fritz passed away, I had started a thread about how the Schwinn Sting Ray had affected so many of us young kids around the old neighborhood.
I had hoped to get more personal accounts and testimonials from the diehard Sting Ray guys, but it didn’t really take off.
I just remember a time when every 14 year old kid on the block had a Schwinn Sting Ray, and how it seemed like we had all sprouted wings and found our freedom.
Literally the old neighborhood became the World with a set of pedals and a pair of ape hangers.
That’s the kind of passion the story of a Schwinn bicycle needs to evoke.
