Just picked this exact one up today. Funny thing was I was looking at FBMP last night and saw this bike for sale. I thought it looked like a King Size. I was looking up the serial number and I came back to this thread and there was the bike for sale. 😄 Even though I’ve already got one on this registry I had pick this one up.

Find someone with a fork straightener and you are good to go! I never knew the tool existed until a couple of years ago! They work terrific!

All you actually need to straighten a Ashtabula fork is a large vise that is securely mounted to a bench and/or floor. You secure one leg in the vise and place a thick wall (D.O.M.) tube inside the steerer tube. Pull on the opposite leg and push on the thick wall tube. Reverse the process to bend the second side. The forks always bend in the crown area. Never toss them out, they are easy to align with a minimum of special tools.

I could never get the blades straight. This silly bumper jack tool was genius to me! Before I bought one I was rigging up a farm jack, an old hub, and a block of wood to get it done. My AMF's were notorious for this but I had a couple Raleigh 3 speeds also! Only one Schwinn fork bent! A testiment to the quality they had!

Hello. Can anyone tell me if this American King Size kickstand is supposed to stick out like this? Recently just picked this up from the classifieds section on this site. TIA!

It doesn't appear bent. I would say somebody switched it with a wrong one like from a 26" lightweight (racer, breeze, traveler).
I doubt that as the angle of the lightweight sprags would cause it to be further in not out. The light weight sprags have a more acute angle. Maybe an older balloon stand.
