To start off, I like this very interesting bike, and it looks to be unused as title states, and looks very sharp. And I do not like to poke my nose into other people's listings but there are some things though that I see in the pics that do not match the description that I think a potential buyer should know. Perhaps seller is even a member on this site. Listing states the bike is a 1972 which would have a disc brake on it if you wanted this bike to be correct for that year, seller states period correct, so a 1971 bike would have the rear caliper brakes, so it could be said to be period correct, not just that year I suppose. However listing states, " Every single part on this is vintage Schwinn correct . NOT any recent remake". Now it depends on how one determines what "recent" means I suppose. But there never was an original1968-1973 Krate built with the bow reflector type pedals as shown. The rear tire is a 1998-99 or possibly newer Raised Black Letter tire. They did not not make these tires until the 1998 repop coaster yellow and blue Stingrays of that time which had these tires on them, while the 1998-99Krates had the RWL tires on them both tires being made overseas. Rear shocks look from pics to be shiny/polished chrome, period correct shocks would not be shiny chrome as those shown, a more dull type chrome/cadium silver type finish on it (I could be wrong about the shocks, would have to see bike in person). Might be some other stuff not period correct, however the seller never states this is an NOS bike and is correct in doing so. Seller states some NOS parts were used which is correct. Now that said, I would like to own this bike, it looks to be done very well with some great parts on it, and I do wish the seller good luck with the sale.
