I have never seen so many scrap trucks around in my life. They used to only come around on garbage night, now I see them EVERY night. How do they make any money with the little steel they get when gas is over $4 a gallon? I don't even bother driving around during spring clean up anymore because there is a scrap truck on every street so its impossible to find anything. I'm lucky if I find 1 bike a year in the garbage nowadays.

On "Big Trash Day" it's literally a parade of pickup trucks, and they go all throughout the night with flashlights for spotlighting the piles of junk, but I guess an unemployment rate like the one we have will drive people to it quickly.

I'm about to make a comeb ack into the scrap market-nobody here is hiring it seems-Hell, not even the local McDonald's wanted me and that is sad. So off to the crusher I go! I'll need to get a new set of wire strippers though, the last time around about killed them.

Bring on the microwaves, bicycles (stripped clean of course), rusted-out car parts, grills, lawn mowers, wires, and all the Sanford & Son goodies!
