I live for the CABE
I like when my skirt guard lacing compliments the bike, and the extant examples I’ve seen indicate that it wasn’t just all white twine. I found a website, Twine by Design, for whom it seems that rosaries are their primary sales target. (Their craft twine and rosary twine are identical, except with loftier names). Anyway it’s between 2-3mm, like the original. I photographed a sample of the lacing from the 1934 Mead Ranger, alongside the new twine. This has a more variegated pattern, but the colors are just about right.
I also ordered a two tone blue and white to eventually do the LaSalle, and I think it will look great. With a lighter, I checked the content and it appears to be synthetic so you can burn the ends to prevent unraveling, which will also presumably be helpful in feeding it through the holes.
