I put in a new to me work bench it’s in but I still have some cleaning to do . Also went to a local hobby shop today & took the opportunity to visit a near by bicycle friend . Any hobby shop you can drive to I consider local these days . I went there a few years back and remember buying some Tamiya stuff they didn’t value it as much as the modern stuff they sell.
I was going to buy a black edition Clod Buster online they had this priced the same as the cheepest I could find in line. So I grabbed this to help with parts for the 10 Clods I’m in the process of restoring . Then they had a box of random Tamiya parts still so I grabbed all the Clod stuff plus a couple of other parts for $60. Thought that was fair enough being some of it was stuff I needed now .

My vintage NOS Bevin egg bell from Ed @my560sec arrived and I figured it was worthy of the Aerocycle. Some shelf wear, some rust specks and character ( as presented) but I polished it up some and I think it looks good.

I got a nice NOS chain from @Rusty72 on DOND via @sm2501 and upgraded the chain on the Schwinn. It was a couple links short for my use, so I had to add a couple links, now it's a wee bit loose ( adjusters right to the end) display only with 2 masters. No big deal.

Does anyone have a secret ( beyond an angle grinder) to take pins/links out of a 1" pitch chain. Modern chain ( Park) tools won't work! I was 2nd guessing my "fix" and thought I could have maybe made a shorter bridge with links but of course I have both ( except what I'd need?) types NOS in the box that are the wrong size. Does anyone else on here have a bit of OCD? Ha!!

It's going to be fine. Love it the way it sits. Cheers! Bob

I have my wife hold the chain on a piece of 2 X 4. Then I use a hammer and nail set to drive it out.
That is a nice lot you got!

Was a good week this week for scores! Thanks to all the fellow cabers!!

Picked up two 57’ Phantoms from @Junkman Bob. The red one will complete my Phantom trio and the green one will complete my pops trio of Phantoms.

Picked up a sweet Zeppelin light from @badbob and then ended up seeing him today at the Westbend WI swap and bought the Schwinn parts cabinet.

Shelby chainring for a project from @onecatahula

Found a matching paint rack for a ladies Shelby I got a couple weeks ago on eBay from @bicyclebones

And a few other goodies from the swap meet today!

Frank

As a model builder too, I have always loved the Tamiya stuff. Their R/C models were always excellent! They taught the other brands how to do it.
