Toy car repair shop this week. Be creative or be unsatisfied. I bought an Astro Turbine jet battery op toy car (runs with a bap...bap...bappp motor sound, then stops, bapps......off again) and the lights ( 2/ 1 middle/1 back are supposed to work/seller said rear one did, not when it arrived) are pooched, obviously been opened up ( not by me) looks sloppy, not that everything I do is 100%.
Perhaps the bulbs were replaced with low volts/cooked. Not wise to bend those tabs again, so won't. The nose cone ( probably hit a wall/popped off when new) was replaced ( pretty good job) and I just didn't like it. Too open, too jagged. Tin snipped a '57 Ford parts grill for inside. Pics are factory ( from website, not mine) then before and after mine.
The blue '59 Caddy needed some love too.. The cream/yellow '54 Caddy needed a bath, and is a high mileage, ( looks nice with my all original 2 tone '59) but cool.
The Coffee '60 Ford Galaxie is really complete, looks good ( equally worn, like me) with my '55. The '60 is a cruder model ( litho trim) but still a nice model with amazing details. I had to buzz size down some doner Ford hupcaps/ wheel rubber really dry so that went so/so. "No riders" decals in the front windows both cars are neat OG. Too much time on my hands? Perhaps.
Waiting for nice weather ( we got snow on Thursday/dang..) so busy hands or go nuts. My old Honda Accord actually got in the garage ( a 1st for a newer car) as my '58 Poncho is at my buddies shop getting new coil springs, etc. It doesn't sit out in the snow ( or driven), and in his shop at night. There is a pretty big "to do list" on it, so his 2 bay shop has it in and out in the day. I drove a '58 Pontiac in the Winter back in the 70's!
