Picked up a few Silverking parts again. This week I managed to find the fender headlight/horn, rear fender light and battery tube. Somehow this huge dog followed me home ;)

Here is a picture of the dog that followed me home ;) The good news is that I don't have to feed him or take him out. Happy Sunday Funday to everyone on the CABE.

It seems like a find one cruiser a year, this one was at an estate sale pretty close to me, I bought it right for sure. June 24, 1980 if I am reading the badge correctly. It is going to clean up great, I pretty much just see one scratch on it, near the seat post clamp. It also has a little wear to the down tube decal. Someone preserved the chrome with chrome polish. The front fender has a chunk of chrome missing, I wonder if it would be a crime to lose the fenders. It has a Goshen, Indiana license sticker. Unfortunately, it needs tires, I think it's worth the cost to find correct tires, if anyone has any for sale, let me know.

I don't think I posted this. I won it in an on line auction while on a train in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada end of January. It was located north of Toronto. Vancouver ( west coast) and Toronto. ( on route to east coast) each locale are 1000+ miles from my place in Winnipeg ( middle of Canada). Now the geography lesson is over, here it is.

1964 Honda C100 ( 49cc) SUPER CUB step through scooter. Appears to have only 1777 miles on it, but the carb is flooding and outside of my skill level, so is with a shop."December 17, 2002—Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that total production of its Super Cub has reached 35 million units in the 44 years and three months since it first went on sale in August 1958."

Almost impossible to find anyone who knows how to work on a Keihin Japan carb/downdraft/vintage these days, me being one who doesn't. Wait until I need my tri-power

1958 Pontiac 370 -6 pack adjusted!! I've bought a couple of Truimphs from this shop, still waiting on parts that were hard to find. The alternative was an Asian repro carburetor that "usually" works. I prefer stock, so in a few weeks, I'll know if it's going to be stock or bogus. Still snow and ice here, so mot missing any riding time.

Man, I love seeing all the treasures you guys pick up week after week.

I was incredibly fortunate and found another Schrader display cabinet. My first one was very rough and needed a lot of paint removal (which I posted pics of the process). This one is near mint and came with nearly a dozen pressure gauges. Yes I paid too much, but I enjoy my collection.

Back at the end of January, I picked up this pair of '37 Ford wheels for free, with the plan to trade them for a bike a buddy of mine had.
BftD_dewey_12925_1.jpg

Well, after a month of our schedules not lining up, I was finally able to get together with the guy last Tuesday and work out a deal with him. Unfortunately, the wheels weren't in as good of shape as either of us would've liked, but he could still probably use them. As a result, we did a partial trade: he got the wheels and $25 cash, I hauled off the tires to be recycled, and I got this prewar Huffman project I'd been eyeing for years now. It's a little rough, but the frame and fork is straight from what I can tell. I'm not completely sure what my plan is for this bike just yet, but this isn't going to be a restoration, that's for sure! I'm pretty excited to have it!

On top of that, my brother and sister-in-law brought me a couple movies for my birthday: Transformers One, and this:
BftD_klunkerz_dvd.jpg

I actually was watching it earlier this morning!

Last but not least, I saved a bunch of stuff from my late Grandpa's old shed as we all dug through it, sorting out stuff to save and stuff to trash. Most of the stuff in this photo may look like junk, (and some of it may very well be,) but I see tons of material to repurpose for my bikes. I mean, heck, I started a whole thread about this very thing years ago. The wood boards and barn tin could make great tank inserts, the piece of railroad track would make a handy anvil for repairs, the busted steel chair could be cut up for tubing or mounting brackets, I already know what I'd use the bucket of fence post toppers for, and that's not even including all the tools and hardware I got as well!

Overall, it's been a pretty good week for finds for me.

I’d be interested to see the serial number on the Huffman. It appears post war to me.
