About thirty minutes ago I failed to properly seat a roadbike tire before running up to 105psi.

About twenty minutes ago the friggin thing went off like a grenade and scared me half to death.
Never fly with the Canadian Air Force or the US coast guard I was told 😆🤣😂

3 big ones.

Trading my 1972 Stingray for a Peugeot PX-10LE.

Getting sick of the Peugeot and selling it to buy a beach cruiser.

Selling my 48 Monark Rocket, that I built from a scrap broken frame. Re-braised the frame, 7 speed nexus and deep fenders.

Back in the 90's i refurbished/restored several old ballooners for the Bicycle Barn in Walla Walla WA. I just had an interest but really didnt know what i was doing. I would change out original parts with repop stuff from Maple Island Sales and Memory Lane and just pitch the old parts in the trash. In the process i discarded several prewar speedo's, usable tires, stems and other usable parts. Today, i dont throw anything away when working on old bikes..
In the 90 s concourse restored was the nuts now it’s easier restoration is in a can of Wd40 and a rag…. I love this generation … a lot easier lol

I saved this 1936 Henderson Hollywood by buying all of the painted pieces that were being parted out from Memory Lane. I was young and didn’t have the money to finish it, and sold it. The paint was amazing, and I sold it for less than I had in it. But at least (I hope) it stayed together.

It was 1960 and I was carrying morning and evening paper routes. One night at supper, I told my Father that I was going to buy a motorcycle. He said, "No, you're not." I said, "Yes, I am." He said, "If you buy a motorcycle, you'll regret it."

So I bought a 1952 Harley Hummer. Our equipment shed had a loft. Two of my friends helped me hide it up there and I started working on it when he wasn't around.

I regret that he found my motorcycle.

In the late 1970's I worked for Cycles Peugeot as a sales rep. I was talking to Dennis Hansing who owned Montrose Bike Shop with his dad Bob Hansing. He told me that when they built their new building on Honolulu Ave in Montrose, CA. they needed to build a cement retaining wall for the parking lot because the lot was sloped. Rebar was expensive, and they needed something to tie it all together. He said they filled the wall framing with every old balloon bicycle frame they could find and called in the cement mixer to fill it up. It's still there today if anyone needs a replacement Autocycle or Phantom frame. They primarily sold only lightweight bicycles and fat tire bikes had no value. Euro-Asia Imports was located on the second floor of the building. Bob at one point ran Shimano American.

Happy he didn’t choose the stingray frames for rebar…I recently picked up a 1968 Schwinn Stingray at a Northern California swap meet and just noticed it has a Montrose Bike Shop dealer sticker on it.
