@IngoMike I think you're spot on. I LOVE your bike! Patina, usefulness, antique and unique enough to be mentionable. The lil feathered friend is icing on the cake.

The posed question is certainly subjective but it's what keeps this hobby interesting - surely there's no one-size-fits-all all answer.

I have always felt, that if I could only have one classic design, balloon tire bicycle, then my choice would be the postwar, Schwinn B6

Super comfortable to ride and maintain.
It’s a perfect design in my opinion.
Which I’m sure, is why it was built for so many years, without much alteration.

I want a bike that has perfect classical lines, is light, is easy to pedal, can climb long hills, shines like brilliantly polished chrome and has blackwall Westwinds on polished alloy rims with stainless spokes. Oh, and a smallish but cushy black kangaroo hide saddle. If nobody minds, I'll have the frame made of Titanium, polished, not painted. Let the mudguards be flared, aircraft aluminum and painted black, but let the springer slide, this baby won't be jumping no stinkin' curbs. Can I get an Amen?

Have you seen the Merlin Newsboy? There are a few other Ti cantilever frames out there since then but this was the original. I believe even Robin Williams had one.

This one is made out of 4130 Chromoly and shines in the Sun.
It rolls on alloy rims with stainless spokes, and has the butter smooth, Sachs Torpedo, Duomatic, coaster brake.

My dream bike would lend a lot from this 1934 Goodyear Zeppelin Duralumin Cycle...with modern, much thinner wall tires of the same width, running at 45psi. The frame would probably be a Magnesium Alloy, possibly the highly flammable type. lol So, Polishing might be an issue.

...and a Pinion 14sp Internal Gearbox! Polished!!

....larger, sealed bearing, aluminum 7075 finned versions of the ND WD front brake hubs on front and rear.
.....with rod brake style control linkages, chrome lug style fittings, connected with hollow 7075 tubing.

......you know, subtle upgrades......

Oh yeah, almost forgot the most important part. Hydrogen gas to fill those balloon tires and offset the weight of any steel or rubber parts!
