Serial numbers 458,108 are somewhat close to an olive frame in an old 2013 thread by will@willbuilt.com
SN: 447,368
Guessing about 1933; (and will's maybe almost a year earlier)?

So you think it is a Westfield?

Was wondering if the crankset cones might have been the Emblem Angola 2-sided type?

If side 1 looks like side 2 (the flip side), then the cones would be reversible.

Looks like a nice project.
No, they definitely aren't; actually I shouldn't say 'they', because the left-side cone is completely absent. The bearings were just floating in their grease inside the bearing cup.

No, not Westfield, (and neither was will's).
I do not believe this is a Westfield frame. Post pics of the rear dropouts & inside head tube.
The fish-mouth reinforcements at the ends of the lower top tube are identical to those used on late Emblem Manufacturing built Moto-frames.
Emblem Angola bikes may be kind-of similar to some Westfield bikes, as at one time they both appeared to use a fairly-smaller O.D. truss tube on their motorbikes; (but your drop bar frame does not even have a truss tube).

Westfield often used a unique undersized bottom bracket crank hanger, with a double-D drive, instead of a more-common drive pin.
I'd like to see some pics of the tetanus crankset. I will pull the crankset in my Cadilac to compare.
Thanks, Chris

Westfield had other differences in the details, (such as in the seat post clamping area).

Also, not a Schwinn; (nor a Elgin, Firestone, Foremost, Goodyear, Hawthorne, Hiawatha, Huffman, Monark, Murray, Snyder, Western Flyer, etc.).

My bad, didn't see that comment about the Westfield.

Maybe?

Yes....You should consider finally accepting the fact that the frame is Emblem built. You could safely say so even if you ignore the Emblem Angola serial number stamped on the bottom bracket. You have in-hand another huge clue....your crankset with the missing cone. If the cone is missing why was it not replaced? Not all emblem built cranksets used the two-sided cone ONLY on the non-drive side Emblem cranksets (which yours CLEARLY has hung on it) has oversized thread cones on both sides so that when they go missing, are nearly impossible to source. Time to call a spade a spade. Show us your crankset and measure it. On another note.....since Emblem made Pierce bicycles in Angola after they purchased them, they also hung these oversized cranksets on bikes badged Pierce Angola. But since Emblem was the maker of these Pierce bicycles, there are still technically only two makers who used these oversized crankset cones and drives...Miami and Emblem.

Forgive me for asking questions, this is my first foray into pre-balloon bikes, I'd never even heard of Emblem before this thread.
