Aaaand finished. Again, not perfect, but I’m pleased with the results. Just need a new chain and brake adjustment and we’re ready to ride.

Tape job looks great and the Crybaby wha early in the guitar signal chain is a smart choice.

And she’s moving under her own power, errr, my power. Still need to readjust the brakes and the front derailleur is stuck, but it rides quite lovely.

Now, you’ve got me inspired to keep working on mine.
I hit a few unrelated snags, but the Varsity Blue/Greens keep calling me back to the garage to get that bike rolling again.

These two articles should be required reading even if you’re only remotely interested in Schwinn built bicycles, and/or the Varsity model in particular.

The plaid Bermuda Shorts are a must for riding apparel.
