I looked up the serial for the above Schwinn and the web tells me it's a 1959.... call me suspicious but that don't sound right. GYO34534 is stamped on the bottom bracket (maybe that O is a 0?)
Well, I rode it on the trails and it did great! No pics though.
I worked on my Fuji trying to track down a clunk sound. Found the freewheel has a bit of play when I isolate it from the gear assembly? Very strange.

I need to put a three speed front derailleur on to accommodate the old triple from the Woodlands project.

White rims weren’t doing it for me ( the whole bike is a little too shiny for me ) so put a 1 in. pitch converter on a newer wheel to try a few miles, other odd things, had to pull off the fork to get to the badge rivets, ground flush & power coated over in front but on the inside Murray has a big welded seam inside front so not easy to even find what’s left of the rivets also the fork bearing were all loose ball, no cage so dug in the bearing bucket to find a couple, they are also smaller diameter bearing/cages. Another thing I’ll have to do something about is the seat post, don’t ever remember seeing a solid small 7 post with a shim? And even with that won’t tighten, frame bracket is hitting itself so have to try another or bigger shim, always seems like when stuff has been re-chromed sizes are different as with the neck bolts don’t fit 1/2 in. & 9/16 don’t fit exactly right, well a couple of different rim set to try, I think I need some more gears!

Not a bike! It's Bike Stuff Week! Trying to organize a 2nd work area near the back of the shop. One thing on the agenda is going thru wheels. Like most of you, I have pile after pile that need to be gone thru. I wish I had 2 more of these racks! Tossing the junk, keeping the good wheels.

My main work area, is loved but always gets pretty crowded, and yes, messy.

Ever have a tank that it looked like someone ripped the sheetmetal over the screws?

Screw holes are more like #10, so I started with those dimple dies...lightly tapping.

Once the hole was back to relatively centered and flat, I came back with the dimple die for the #8 head like it is supposed to have. These non-countersunk screws will need to go too.

Holes are back in shape with some heavier taps though!

I worked on my project Silverking Hextube rear reflector. It was scratched in various spots and look horrible. I used the grinder with special pads to remove the scratches followed by sand paper, steel wool and some Mother's Aluminum Polish. It is coming out pretty nice :) It needs to be buffed out a few more times with steelwool and Mothers.
