A bit of a fun story here: I'd already been a modest collector of Cannondale MTBs, then Cannondale neon signs. I'd always wanted a parts cabinet, but never really put in the seeming full time scanning needed to find/buy one. She knew and ahead of my birthday, searched high and low. She ended up buying TWO New Departure cabinets. She jumped at the first one that came up, which was in ok shape, but then another, much cleaner cabinet came up and she bought that one, too, because she wanted to gift me the cleanest one she could find. The general bike collection has grown quite and bit and she doesn't mind at all.

She's a keeper.

The first rusty p.o.s. bike I brought home didn't set well with the wife. The collection grew and I had a lot of really nice prewar Schwinn/Ranger bikes and tons of parts. Things were kinda cramped in our apartment and I decided the bikes have been good for me but the bikes need to be good to the family. I sold the collection and was able to pay a huge hunk on a small house-which I never regret doing. My wife was so impressed that I would sell my bikes to get us a house-she never questioned anything to do with my bike hobby after that! Shortly after I had the 1935 Schwinn motorbike tank made out of metal. I had started another collection but sold it to pay off my house before my official retirement. I am on my 3rd bike collection and still going strong-thanks to her!
