Schwinn didn't make "step-thru" bikes, only girls and boys bikes.
Schwinn had the same problem that Harley Davidson had. Schwinn was so dominate in the marketplace, and so well known for certain styles of bicycles like the Cantilever framed Cruisers, Sting Rays, and Varsities that when they needed to modernize the models to attract the younger buyer it proved difficult.

Adding a decal and nameplate to a generic bicycle, does not make it a Schwinn.

This is getting funny.

In the first place there was actually a Schwinn dealership in Riverside, CA called Riverside Schwinn, they also had a store in nearby Redlands, CA. They were one of the biggest BMX dealers in the nation back in the day.

Then Schwinn Owners #2 (Scott Sports Group) did the 1995 100-year Anniversary Phantom bike, and assembled it "in Riverside, CA".

Finally, Schwinn Owners #3 (Pacific) names one of their imported clone Cruisers, the Riverside.

The Riverside Schwinn dealer should be earning some royalties on the well-used Schwinn Riverside name.
