Goofy Schwinn builds and parts in ads or old photos or real life
The case of 2 patent decals on this postwar b6. One in the usual place on the seat post and now on the fork leg? And an added bonus front fender is for a truss braced fork
1970 Schwinn Consumer Catalog: the last of several years in a row in which the mounting bracket of the Deluxe headlight was photographed upside-down. If installed upside-down as shown, with its stamped lip facing upward, it can act as a rain gutter to channel rainwater down into the headset:
1971 Catalog: Got it right-side-up at last. Photographer still hasn't figured out how the generator and taillight are supposed to install:
1972 Catalog: Now it's upside-down again, but at least someone noticed how the generator is set up:
1973 Catalog: Same photo (note the reflections in the chrome), slightly rearranged to a new angle, still wrong:
1974 Catalog: First year for the second-generation Deluxe set. Finally, a new gooseneck-clamp mounting bracket that can be installed either way up. They probably threw in the towel on the original headset ring design due to complaints about having to remove the entire handlebar & stem assembly just to get the ring mounting bracket installed:
1941 Schwinn with drop centers? Thought they had flat new style lobdells? Has one year only chainguard. I dunno. And lead front fender brace sits in front of fender light cover and not behind as typically seen
