Goofy Schwinn builds and parts in ads or old photos or real life
I posted this in the Christmas section and realized this phantom has a front center pull style front brake vs the drum brake. Never seen this before?? Any thoughts??
This is why I search the www archives....it's days like this that leads to a fine satisfactory find....
Old schwinn pictures = great reference for original equipment...such as this most likely 1941 autocycle with embossed tank with a speedometer crossbar type on the bars and it has buttons on the crossbar indicating that wiring was fished through a switch type tank. Fender light on board and a double adjustable stem? Wish I could see the badge and tank decal better.
Seems odd for a B6. Does it have a hardware store badge? Also what year? Looks 48-49ish with those rims. I think the 54 catalog is the first year I have with just the frame available without a welded on stand, likely not available painted with that scheme though. I would look under the bolt on stand for signs of a broken off weld from the original.
Circa 1937/38 Schwinn!! Motorbike tank with crossbar speedo. Long spring saddle and dual lights? Front fender is bare of any ornaments no lights no reflectors.
