Thank you very much for your input DNC. I am indeed a member of the Dursley Pedersen group and I posted the same question there. Still waiting for an answer. If I find the number, I will definitely circulate it. Thanks again for the help.
It says The Stern News Company, Chicago USA... what a weird name for a bike factory...

Most likely I will go back to Delaware the following weekend if there is no other complication. Thanks.

Are you sure it isn’t on the underside of the bottom bracket? These are from a FB post.

We found the number buried under the spreader plate on the front fork. It reads 23353.

We could not find the frame size number yet but we keep looking.

On the bottom of the crankcase, there is no number. The box is made of bronze.

Can anybody tell the origin and year based on this number?

Thanks a lot!

Frame number should be 3 or4 digits long, with the final number being the frame size, which should be the last "3" in your example.

A frame number of 2335 indicates the year of manufacture at 1904 according to the UK V-CC's research study.

...and from the same research, it would seem you need an inside leg measurement of '31 inches'!

An image of the frame number would be great for future reference by others, thanks.

Thank you very much DNC1!!! In fact, I have 32 inches of leg length, so it would be the right size for me. What a coincidence.
I will take a picture of the number and post it here. I will post pictures when I finish restoring the bike for the Pedersen community records.
Thanks to all again for the help!
Cheers.
Roberto
