Probably the most interesting additions to the Huffman lists in the last year is the second USMC 'Lightweight' bicycle. In fact there are now three of this type (Model name/designation unknown) known, and I'm in contact with the owner and waiting for him to supply the details so it can be added.


We are still missing an example of a 1943 Huffman Model HF-771 lightweight folding bicycle for paratrooper use. Of the 500 built, this is the only known surviving example and is part of the bicycle display at the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, OH. It is interesting to note that it has a Westfield chainwheel.

Does anyone have access to this bike (or another survivor?) Mounted as it is, it would seem possible to photo the serial number on the bb easily (assuming it's not filled with paint).
