I decided I'd post on here again because so many of you have posted some really cool bikes... This one is a set of handle bars and a few more turns of the springer bolt away from really fitting nicely in here. The frame is a '54 Hornet. The dude at OC Powdercoating talked me into this metallic bronze powder that I sat on for a long time because I wasn't really feeling it. I faded black spray paint on half of it and I thought it'd be cool to black out the rest of the bike and have only the back half of the frame having any color at all. I had all these new parts I bought from F and R one day when I had just finished making a custom set of matching lime green cruisers that had mostly all new parts. I thought I should start collecting a bunch of new parts for people who wanted a bike that looked and felt brand new... so everything on this bike is brand new except for the frame and flywheel which may be of interest because I've been using the bigger lucky 7s to make cruisers a little easier to pedal against the strong Northwest winds that often blow through Huntington Beach where I live. Everything else is brand new and it's the first bike I've made with a sealed bearing bottom bracket. The seat is from an Ebay store in Indonesia that had taken the leather from inexpensive Brooks seats, or Just Fugazi Brooks seats and mounted them on hairpin springs. I remember that purchase was pretty expensive but they mistakenly sent me the same order twice which made it very affordable. Normally I'd do the right thing and return the extra order, but postage on a 5lb package to Jakarta didn't make returning it make any sense. Their price vs. the Indonesian cost of living was affording them the ability to more than cover their mistakes anyway. Teramakasi! (Tear up my car seat) Its how you say Thank you in Indonesian. The seats look and function Bagus (good)

This is another bike I'll end up losing money on, even with the advantage of wholesale prices from F & R. It's a good thing this is just a hobby for me and not a job. That being said, Id let this thing go for the closest I could get to $500, which is right about where my cost is on it.

I’ve been in a weird bike funk lately, some kinda transition where I’m searching for the right fit for how I want to ride.

Threw this parts pile together to try out a few things. Taller Electra Cafe Cruiser bars and a bent back seat post. Saddle is a Cannondale Treadwell. Was on clearance at our local Sierra Trading Post, bought one to try out and I went back to get the rest of them after I did… if you happen across one, buy it. Comfy and lightweight.

‘62 Schwinn frame, free from a friend. Junk Panther III Fork, getting swapped with something else once I make it up to my attic and find my fork tub, this one is bent a little… $40 marketplace parts bike 3 speed Nexus wheelset. Custom torched and bent Schwinn exerciser seat post. The rest is already mentioned or came from my parts tubs.

Overall, it’s super comfy. Rides amazing. Just simple. I’ve tried to overcomplicate things, but always come back to a simple build like this.
