Schwinn Corvette 5 Speed Registry

I'm not a "Schwinn guy". Indeed, this is my first. I love it but know precious little about it. I already bought a front rack and am currently looking for the headlight. I've been reading through BikeHistory and such but find nothing about the manual 2 speed. Was this offered by Schwinn or do I have some sort of modification?

No, Schwinn offered a two-speed option starting I believe in ‘58 or ‘59.

@Eatontkd start a thread about your bike it is really sharp and I’m guessing mostly original. Manual 2 speeds are great.

Schwinn first offered the 2 speed manual as factory equipment on the 1958 models. It was standard equipment for 1958 59 and 60. For 1961 the standard was the 2 speed automatic/kickback.

You may have missed where they called it out as Multi-speed, not 2-speed hub in 1955.

Nope I did not miss it, the Corvette did not have a option for a two speed/multi speed hub. Coaster brake and three speed only for the Corvette. We're talking about just Corvette here not the other models
