Did any of these ever come with a center pull caliper brake? I'm looking for a CP that would fit around a 2.125 tire, something Schwinn would have used.

Dia-Compe centerpulls would be the place to start looking. They have a lot of configurations.

I don't know of any CP brakes that were used on any Schwinn MTB during that era? The trend was going with brazed on Cantilever Brakes on most bike models.

It looks to me like the original Sierra Brown paint under the white? And there was no white listed for the Sidewinders in the Schwinn dealer catalog!

I believe the Sidewinders were Chestnut, not Sierra Brown (the other "earlier" brown). I would question that as a catalog error. If I were energetic, I would go look that up in the original salesman catalogs which have all of the "corrections, hand written".
