Can't take credit for the idea, saw one on ebay and heard about the 26 fastback builds for years. I happened to have some parts around from an old 64 varsity and huffy atb. The frame is roached a bit on the non-gear side, so wasn't too worried about modifying it. This is a straight up bolt on on the wiring, it needs a bit more length but works good.

Here's my 1963 Schwinn American California Special. The frame, wheels and crank all came all the way from Cali, therefore the name. Rides and pedals real nice. Prefect for riden around all the shows I go to. Enjoy. Mark.
