now that's quite a lock......I have a friend that has a nice trailer and he has a lock on the hitch and he always removes 1 wheel/tire and replaces it with a rim only (has a lug lock on so they have a hard time removing). it's a lot of trouble but he's not a trusting soul...:p

View attachment 734697 View attachment 734698 yep I fell in to the got my sh—t stolen today... woke up this morning and wham it’s gone.. my trailer badges bikes parts seats you snake it. Guess no march swap for me this year....beware in Oregon Washington are especially. Tubs of parts and bikes were great ne and now into some crack heads hands so if you see antique and vintage parts for sale think of me and let me know I’ll tell you if they are mine.. I got pics. of some..,

SO lame! Please tell me WHAT the heck is going on up in Washington? At one time a 'dream state' I might have wanted
to move to. Lately? I've heard SO many stories like this, of just rampant blatant thievery and hitting bike collectors up there
especially hard. WHAT IS UP in the Northwest?

^^^^ whew!

I have heard of people stealing locked trailers by pulling them up on a rollback,,,,,so if they really want it they will get it- best to check with your home and auto insurers about a policy that will meet your needs.

It’s the homeless.... most of Portland and other states are getting a overload of homeless people.. I can’t get around town without see piles of stuff and homeless people.. it’s an epidemic.. they park for a bit steal what they can get and leave. Possibly trade for heroin and cash where they can get it....once You can have a safe place then POW there here! I sympathize with the poor things here is getting expensive but a biggest part is drugs... money to get drugs..sad situation..

So sorry to hear this, Mark. Have you perused the area on the SE industrial side next to the freeway? In the homeless "camps" of the area, THAT is where the bike thieves congregate/sleep/do their drugs in their blue tarp tent village. Your stuff will likely go through there if not be there presently. They run stolen stuff down to California. It will show up, that Greyhound is going to do them in.

Thanks I’m gonna look around I’m sure the parts won’t surface... the trailer is my goal I’m on the hunt for it...

My Dad as a Christmas present gave me this sticker a few years ago.

1146531

I never hung it up, but in the last year a new neighbor moved in from his house a few doors down. This new neighboor has been caught on the other neighborhoods video surveillance videos peaking into windows, and is also a convicted felon. He has also recently been in the local news for other petty crimes on multiple occations. So the rest of neighboorhood is talking, and on alert.

My Dad is a old heavily armed war time vet with a very strict no nonsense demeanor (He even has a rifle hanging up on his master bathroom wall). I recently asked him if he wanted the sticker back to place on his window. But he said "No that is not neccesary".

So last Christmas I got him one of those home entry video surveillance cameras / security systems just to be safe.

I use the chains to lock my half a Datsun pickup trailer to a big pole. my neighbor had his small trailer stolen, we watched it on video. took about 10 seconds and he was gone.
