Didn't pick up anything phenomenal this week, but the prices were right and stuff was grouped close enough for a road trip.
81 Murray Monterey, grabbed it for the wheels and Lightning tires. Dude left it outside and told me his price wasn't firm...I left the cash in the outside electrical cover. That was the most trusting seller I've never met. Ha
The paint isn't great on this Mongoose ATB, but I dig it! Hopefully it shines up, either way it will make for a great mileage hog!
Same guy with the Mongoose had a ton of frame projects...there's still two more I need to go back for because the price is right. He has a mid 50s Tiger too, those were all buried though. I about fell over when he told me the price of the Hutch/Hanebrink project...it was a quick "yes, I'll take it!!"
This Huffy Seapointe, I had to have a long conversation with myself about...mostly it was the long pause on either side of "WHY?" It had a functional yellow band Automatic, I swapped the 1980 3sp wheels on it that matched the year, before I took the picture though.
Same guy with the Huffy had this black and yellow frameset. I bought it in the dark for $25. Lol
Got it home to look over...and well, seat tube clamp area has a crack!
It's an early Continental that I'll have fun with though!!!
I picked up a coppertone exerciser too, but didn't take any pictures. It's just for the parts, if you've seen one, you've seen them all. When I went to take a look at it, I told the dude I was taking a step back...cause there was a wasp nest in the wheel. Luckily there was only one still in there. It took us a good 20 minutes to get the wheel covers off and get him out. The guy apologized, I was like no worries man, neither of us got stung, wasp made it out alive...and we had a good laugh about it.
