My C-2, 1963 Corvette rolled in on a song and a prayer Good Friday ( it was a good Friday!) via TFX enclosed trailer from Toronto, Canada after an April Colorado low blizzard had the driver marooned east of Thunder Bay Ontario Wednesday with semi's in the ditches. I bought the car in Dec. 2022 and had it stored until now in Toronto to avoid Winter roads and the danger of losing the car in a pile up. Ironic thing is I see going through maintenance and repair bills that the car spent the 1990's in the very state of Colorado! The next paperwork jumps to a title in Huntington Beach California in Oct. 2021. I see 4 owners in that 1990-2021 time, extensive motor work in '92 and a repaint at some time. It's all numbers matching car and is a 4 speed trans with a stock ( rebuilt) 327/4 barell/340+ hp. I bought it from a car dealer in Toronto who bought it at an auction. Now my C1-1961 has a brother and they have a baby brother 1957 Nash Metropolitan convertible.
I won't bore you folks with more toy boats and motors, but a few pics just to show some additions. I went to attend an antique show yesterday locally without checking my calendar and was a week early. So I made my way to the show's organizers antique shop for a regular B/S session and just before leaving he told me about a nice toy truck he just got in. He's trying to retire but is still open some Saturdays and keeps buying stuff he knows he can spin quick. Well, the truck has lots of character wear but is in amazing original condition. These 1950's Mini Toy trucks (Otaco made in Orilla, Ontario), Canada have quite the following and are VERY well made not unlike Buddy L, Tonka, and Beaver. It's all there, ( except a tiny swivel arm that keeps original rear doors closed) virtually dent free, and the side graphics are almost perfect. The door decals are partly present, and a really nice one still remains on the inside rear door. Even the underside has the staging wheels that are always gone. For lack of space and being more of a tin toy collector, I hesitate to buy these large trucks, but I jumped on this one. I have a Winnipeg Supply Oil heat truck made by Mini toy also ( an amatuer resto) in my collection replacing a mint one I owned for years and sold under duress and life changes ( kids college/divorce/buy more bicycles!!) a couple decades back.
Happy Easter everyone!!
