Today’s stage 15 was definitely a punch/counter punch between the two best all around road racing cyclists in the world.
Team Visma had a strategy of keeping the pace high all day, with the hopes of wearing down the UAE team.
Probably would’ve worked last year, but this year, the tables have turned, and it is the UAE team that is the dominant power house of the sport.
So, after a valiant effort, all they ended up accomplishing, was to wear themselves out, until it was just Jonas Vinegegaard and Tadej Pogacar left to duke it out.
Jonas hit first, but Tadej delivered the knockout blow, that left the reigning champion reeling, and in doubt about his overall prospects for this years tour?

Ok, I’m sure this is because I am a typical myopic American, but after looking at all the race bikes in this years pro peloton, I’ve once again, come to the conclusion, that the American made, Trek Madone gen 8 is the best bike at the Tour this year.
Here’s why;

Is this thing sexy or what?
An instant classic if you ask me.
And, a relative bargain for the price of $13,500 considering that almost all of the other bikes made in this class of professional racing bikes cost upwards of $20,000

Marty @cyclingday, thanks for sharing the daily reports on this year's TDF. Your reporting is the best. I have been enjoying this tour especially now that Tadej is leading after last year's TDF when again it was Jonas stage win on the 2nd time trial over Tadej sealed the win, I've been a fan of Tadej since '20, his first TDF win. Look forward to watching each stage, especially these last two stages in the Pyrenees. Yesterday, the most difficult of the TDF, was a tremendous day for Tadej and his team. What a performance it was. Wow.

Regarding the crank lengths, during the last climb yesterday to Plateau de Beille with just Jonas and Tadej on his wheel, I was checking the cadance between the two. I notice Tadej spins faster.
