The 39 Monark Patina Racer is getting hung up in the shop to make more room! It will always be a part of the family. It was a fun build and has been a fun bike.
The 64/65 Sears Flightliner failed me on the first long ride a couple months back. The 2 speed kickback Bendix would not shift and there was serious drag and spring noises emitting from the hub. Decided to lace a new Sturmey Archer 2 speed kick back with heavy spokes. Its my birth year Klunker and will now try to improve the light system it came with. Going to be my neighborhood grocery getter ! Sometime in the future will go to Bendix 2 speed kickback school and service the original unit too !
My pre war Colson rat got here and it took 3 hours to get it apart. Good thing it was cheap. Has been identified as a Nov '39 frame. It had 2 nails wedged into the seat tube to adapt a 5/8" seat tube into the 3/4" tube. Fork is CWC I believe. I'm going to need a few things for this one.
Had this frame hanging around for years so this afternoon decided to throw together this 52 Roadmaster/ratrod out of the parts pile, couldn't decided between 2 sets of 1 spd rims red or black but thought I'd try this set of triple steps/SA 2 spd kickback I just picked up for another project ( a 36 project that probably won't go together this easy ) but just wanted to see how the gearing was, took a test ride over the the Deli Relics and rides good but think I'll have to ride it a few times before I put some other rims on, have a black CWC springer for it but someone power coated it and everything fits too tight so that will take some time, thru a tube fork for now.
