Went with a Phil Woods BB. Also, chainrings were whooped, so I put a Campagnolo Strava 55/42 in near new condition. Brooks B5N was ditched in favor of a new Brooks Swift saddle, copper rivets and chrome rails in antique brown. I hope I showed it the love previous owner did.

spanner twistin' tip -

the manufacturer's instructions for mounting the Suntour VGT rear mech advise to adjust the angle of the pantograph so that is is parallel to the chain stay for best performance

I like brake lever covers, and yours were tasteful. Covers provide a much better grip and feel in wet or dry weather although some additional weight. I have added many to my personal bikes, and those requested by clients (usually already installed before sale; they help with the marketing!).
I also add QR (hub and seat clamp) and shifter lever covers on my personal bikes for function and protection.

Looks great regardless!!

So do I and have several Schwinns with them, but something seemed strange when on the Raleigh. I still have replacement decals to install but am procrastinating.

The SC is usually an affordable nice road bike resurrected(notice I didn't say 'restored'). Always a good idea to string the bike before resurrecting....ya never know what kinda life they had. I have a green one like in the pics down in the basement. I bought it from a druggie. I haven't gotten to it yet, as a Competition GS fell into my lap.

Happy riding!

Kevin
