The kickback hubs stopped appearing as a factory option in 1971 or 1972. They don't take value away from a bike that is a single speed coaster brake though. The thing to keep in mind is that if you drill the hub up to take heavy duty spokes, you'll be ruining the integrity of the original chrome...it will eventually start flaking off. Hub shells do pop up from time to time with factory spoke holes to take .105" HD spokes. Make sure you have someone competent swap the internals over if that's what you do.

Looks like the previous owner of the bikes did a fair amount of swapping things back and forth. The rims and hubs on my Deluxe Cruiser look to belong on the Heavy Duti. The rims and hubs on the Heavy Duti belong on a Huffy. I just picked up a set of S-7 rims with hubs that most likely belong on the Cruiser. That’s progress, I guess.

Those 1980-82 Cruisers had 105 spokes and S-2's.

Sigh, looks like I’ll just build it the way I want. On my Heavy Duti, the spokes are huge and the rims have no markings but are huge as well. Wonder if they came off a Workman type bike.

Worksman wheels would be my best guess.

Cruisers had S-2 wheels the Heavy Duti had S-7 wheels both would have had .105 12 gauge spokes.
