I hope the final stage finish for Sundays Old Town Orange ride does not end with the same amount of carnage sprinting around the fountain to the finish line. Somewhere I was told Bicycle riding/racing was supposed to be fun, not bloody.

Fantastic racing today! Some 1st time Tour participants have come into their own good form finding themselves racing forward with leader jerseys in two disciplines, overall leader and best climber.

It was a real debutantes ball today.
First day in the high mountains, and a couple of jersey shake up’s go to first time Tour de France riders.
It was a good time for Tour de France first timer, Jai Hindley, from Perth, Australia to win his first stage, he also took over the yellow jersey for the first time!
Way to go, mate!

Things got a bit rough right of the bat for the American rider, Quinn Simmons, as he decided to do a little body surfing.

That national champions jersey, is looking a bit like, Old Glory.
