I haven’t ridden the 41 Collegiate for some time as it was constantly throwing off the chain. I finally got around go fixing it and believe it was the 1960’s Murray 1/2” pitch chainwheel that was causing the problem with its unusually shallow notches. I replaced it with one that wasn’t too horrible cosmetically and it seems all good now.

Beautiful day downunder in Melbourne today with a strong cool wind. I’ll be flying on the return trip to the office.

The problematic 60’s Murray chainwheel.

The chain lines on 40s vs 60s gets funky too. I've noticed some Prewar bottom brackets to be offset to the left, with the straight 3/16" sprocket. Then those Murrays with a spacer between the cone and sprocket and the 1/8" sprocket offset facing out to the right, I think the BB was centered on the last one I took apart too. So strange.
