Glorious 19th day of November. Hawk hunting at the cliffs, not an osprey, they eat fish.
32 miles, 1937 AERO KING, windy clears the skies.

Another beautiful fall day! Pulled out the Firestone "Flying Ace" and took it for a ride. Decided to go check out the dam, which had burst on the weekend of October 16, 2023.

The dam had been deteriorating for a long time and it finally let go. It certainly changed the looks of the river above it; Never seen the water that low. The town has decided to tear out the dam and not rebuild it. Very sad. It is a local historic landmark and is very popular. The picture of the Giant bike was taken earlier this spring and is posted for comparison, kind of a before and after the dam giving way. Even in the spring picture you can see the collapsing area of limestone.

Took the '72 Suburban out for a 6-7 mile ride around town. Everything but the tires are original on this one. A 51 year-old bike that rides like it has not been serviced in 51 years! I've owned it since April and have not had a chance to go over it. A project for the Winter.

Love that bike, I miss the one I sold last year. Time for another one.

Rode a Manton Smith “Endurance Flyer” today

View attachment 1940137Rode a stretch of road today that is across highway from the gravel trail I ride, it has a very big affluent horse ranch on it. This is its beautifully landscaped entrance area.

Only about 4 miles of pavement then back to my normal gravel route. I saw a bobcat today running across the trail, that was a first….
View attachment 1940146I rode 30 miles today.
Nice riding territory!
