Rode a crusty post-war Mead “Ranger” today

On my way to riding yesterday the guy selling this got back to me, so I turned around and went and purchased this yesterday, never did make it riding afterwards.

Basically looked like a barn find. Wheels amazingly true and hubs spun smoothly. After replacing the frozen chain, tubes, tires, grips, pedals and doing a light cleaning I took it out riding today.

Was amazed today to see this Eagle so out in the open and perched 20’ above trail.

I stopped and got off bike and literally inched my way toward him, every few inches I’d take a picture expecting it to fly off. My patience paid off, I got closest I ever have to one of these beautiful birds and also snapped the best pics I’ve ever gotten of one.I know I recently posted some pics of Eagles but I never get tired of looking at them.

Is that a tall Manton and Smith?? Never seen one like that!

I took an extended lunch break today and took off on my 41 Colson. A few minutes later the master link spat the dummy and disappeared so I returned to work and grabbed my ‘62 Typhoon for a quick ride to the bay. Unfortunately no eagles to see here @RidinRelics but lots of beautiful birds of another kind!

Mid day ride yesterday after the rain cleared some. 33mi. Gusty winds with light rain out on the coast. I rode the 37 Shelby Streamliner with it's fat fenders for the wet weather. Wind is only good when you flip it and get a fast ride back home.
