I rode a ‘40 straight bar today.

The last 2 years I’ve been on a Schwinn straight bar buying frenzy mostly pre war but some post war too. I’ve bought 2 complete pre war bikes and 1 post war frame this past week. This one is the beater, of the two. Even with a whoop in the front wheel I’m surprised how well this bike is riding.

Rode over to an abandoned mill I hadn’t been to in awhile, it’s been a dry , mild day here in Western Wa so far today.

Saw something I haven’t seen much riding lately, an eagle, but it flew away before I could attempt zooming in on it.

I almost got a dry ride in, I could see the rain coming and got dumped on the last 5 minutes of my ride. I rode 20 miles today.

rode 32 miles today, without cell phone interruptions (it shut off), got it to work for this pic, with the Flyers. Awesome Ride!

Thanks Mark appreciate it.

It was a sloppy, rainy morning here today so picked a rusty, crusty ‘59 canti framed bomber to ride today. I built this bike a few months ago to ride in sloppy , wet conditions and it’s been ridden a lot.

Bought this frame originally because I thought I was a very dirty, rusted and faded chartreuse frame, now I feel that was probably a wrong assumption.( it looks like OG paint though, so what was it, a good repaint?) Whatever color it started life as, I really like the olive, brown rust patina it sports now . It definitely blends in with the winter colors here .

I told myself several years ago I was done riding in the winter here in Wa., without fenders. I am either getting less wise the older I get , or I’m subconsciously seeking some additional motivation to keep pedaling harder, because this winter I’ve reverted to riding fender less bikes almost exclusively? (fenders just don’t look right on klunkers). Besides once your soaked, can you really get any more wet?

Makes for a dirtier bike though, ( and back!) I rode 20 miles today.

Yup @RidinRelics Rick and I are getting soaked up here.
I had just detailed “shortie” the 41 Dx yesterday and the forecast was more optimistic than real world.

About 8 miles in I had to camp out under the eaves at the tourist center for a bit.

Still really enjoyed the day and got 18 miles of fresh air and exercise in the bank.
