Wore out three sets of tires already!
This one came out of the Chicago area. A guy on FB was selling it and had been riding it around town. I received it this summer and have been tinkering with it off and on since. I figured I would take some pics and throw it out there, since there hasn't been much action in the Schwinn Lightweight forum lately.
Overall, it's in decent shape, and the paint came back with some polishing. It was missing the correct stem, bars, grips, brake levers, brake lines/housings, front fender and brace, saddle, pedals and stand. It's not easy piecing a bike back together. Luckily, many of the parts I had on hand. Pictures of it as purchased at the end.
The biggest hurdle was finding a replacement front fender and brace. I ended up finding a tandem fender with the same paint color. Unfortunately, the brace was the wrong type. I thought I would pull a brace from a 40s Continental fender I have and use it. Nope. It's not the right length. I ended up fabricating my own. It turned out well. Maybe a correct fender and brace will turn up at some point, but this will do until then.
Specs: 23" frame, Serial B10004, maroon paint w/ red and green pinstripes, Schwinn superior wheels, 3-piece crank w/ AS&CO chain ring, Dural front hub, Sturmey Archer AW 3-speed rear hub and Sturmey Archer quadrant shifter, Schwinn script cushion grips, Schwinn Superior saddle (although I think this is a slightly later version) w/ Schwinn script seat post, Schwinn razor stem, front / rear brakes, Torrington 7 pedals, Miller stand.

Great job with the front fender. The paint/decals are in amazing condition.
