Had an unexpected chance to take advantage of "warm before the storm" weather again yesterday & hit the track with a friend. Tried out a new pair of gloves I picked up at Harbor Freight for $4.48 or something.
They're very similar to the Mechanic gloves I've worn for years & love so much & match my sidewalls, pedals & grips! The palm material may be a bit thicker & hard to operate phone but I like 'em!
I took this sweet riding, 1987 (I believe), Schwinn Sierra in smoked chrome for a quick spin.
This bike has nice wheels, cranks, brakes, and components, perfect for a klunker build!
I'm not sure if I'd be ruining a bike I shouldn't if I transferred its nice Japanese bits onto an old straight bar klunker frame, and then turned it into a sweet nexus 3 or 7 speed cruiser!
This opinion is proposed by a bikaholic so user discretion is advised. Do it!! Then kit out that lovely Schwinn with bmx parts for single speed fun, curb hopping or perhaps Pump Tracks. (slotted dropouts, chromoly, compact geometry....) Then you'd have 2 killer bikes!
Again, I'm a bikaholic currently addicted/spoiled with riding the many pump tracks in my area. User discretion is advised.
One of few places to get out of elements on this trail, this small structure dedicated to the etiquette of fly fishing and a memorial to a local fly fisherman icon. Today seeing the remnant's of the flooding last couple days.
Usually a nice green lawn under the water ( a river is on other side of the house).
All thes logs weren’t under under this bridge a few days ago, this is the river on other side of house in previous picture.

Best part of the thread....
From someone who lives down on the flat Pete, thanks for the praise, but your shots from up in those mountains are things of beauty that are always a joy to see, up there with the best.
So many great photos and stories, everyone who posts here makes me happy; I love seeing people across the world enjoying their machines, be they new or old.
Keep it coming folks!
This one was sitting out front an antique shop that I pass alot. I changed the tires from the dark yellow gumwalls to whitewalls even tho its harder to keep them looking clean & I also added the generator set but it likes to pop bulbs, the led ones too...
I heard of a novel idea for a compressed air powered bike... I saw a vidio of one a guy made awhile back running off a scuba tank but the peadals would spin when he rode it. It would be neat to make it over out of one of these bikes & use the front gearset out of a Schwinn World Tourist bike, "The freewheel is in the front so you can change gears without pedaling" this would allow the peadals to still idle when running it. Also attach 2 smaller tanks on the rear diagonal frame uprights vs 1 dorkey looking big one on the rear bike rack. carbon fiber tanks would be choice & have a wind powered air compressor to recharge them...
