Thanks for the comps @RidinRelics ~ Yes, link below post #10 shows before/after refurbishment. A very desire-able set of 1933 clad wood super balloon clincher rims I had found separately over time. Both dent-free and undamaged. I used new Sapim Laser butted spokes with long brass nuts and appropriate clean running hubs. They ride quite nice actually considering they are of a heavier nature. They finally found a home on this particular bike I think.

Took a couple of bikes by ferry over to Vancouver Island this past weekend. Broke it up with some offroading Saturday and a ride to see my mom on Sunday. 17 miles on the Stumpjumper and 39 miles on the Iver Johnson. I was tracking others on street bikes through the city core and did not see another vintage bike or single speed cruisers. I was getting lots of looks at the traffic lights from the other bikers too

Rode this around the driveway this morning. Had to make a couple changes so I could barely fit on it. A whole lot of pedalling for not a lot of speed or distance, and don't lean back or you'll just keep going onto your back. Had to go early so the neighbors didn't see In case of a crash. Lol.

Put fenders and a basket on this one couple months ago for winter riding and then I haven’t ridden till now. I know baskets don’t get much love but from a practical standpoint I love them. Couple of you guys @Che and @tripple3 have bikes with baskets that you ride and I like! I started early again today in the dark.

I really enjoy riding by headlight and will be able to do it more now that I no longer will be driving my grandson to school everyday ( he turned 16 and got his license and a car!) Sad I won’t have that time with him anymore though.

Been on a kick to see how fast I can ride 50 miles, my last ride Saturday and today. Same route today and same weather as Saturday, dry and cold. This bikes cockpit setup like my Hawthorne “Mega mile moto” that I logged ALOT of miles on last summer. Dressed cooler today so I was borderline cold and had to keep moving faster! About 5 miles from end, bike was making a weird noise, looked down and I saw I picked up this passenger…

It wasn’t hurting anything and was barely rubbing the chain. I’d been pushing hard the whole ride so wasn’t about to stop. I’d take a picture when I was done. Shaved a lot of time off today, 35 min faster than Saturday, 4 hrs 50 min Not sure what I’m doing to myself? ( Trying to somewhat keep up with you, Mark @tripple3 , I guess?) It’s late winter and I usually wait to spring and summer to push it this hard. But I had a lot of fun and a great ride today, glad to be done though….

RIDE SAFE GANG

Love it. I've got a 57 Vette I'm working on. I went resto-mod for now, but planning on....not a complete restoration, but everything correct, but keeping it in rider condition.

Going to have to change the front chain ring or possibly a different type of master link. Having a binding issue and have busted 3 master links off. I'll be playing with that today after work.
